Complete Northeast-10 Release

Burlington, Vt. – American International College finished seventh of 16 programs in the final 2009-10 Northeast-10 Presidents’ Cup Standings, it was announced by the conference office at its annual end of the year banquet in Burlington, Vermont. This marks the best finish by the Yellow Jackets since the Presidents’ Cup was first awarded in 1986.

Evansville, Ind. – Freshman #Glarius Rop# (Eldoret, Kenya) placed third overall at the 2009 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship, hosted by the University of Southern Indiana, with a time of 30:32.4. He became American International College’s first-ever men’s cross country all-American with his third-place finish.

Boston, Mass. – Freshman #Glarius Rop# (Eldoret, Kenya) was named the NCAA East Region Runner of the Year after placing first overall with a school-record time of 30:15.9 at the NCAA East Region Championship, hosted by UMass Lowell at Boston’s Franklin Park. The Yellow Jackets placed fifth in the team standings with 141 points, marking the four-year-old programs best finish to date at the regional.

Colchester, Vt. – Freshman #Glarius Rop# (Eldoret, Kenya) placed first overall with a conference-record time of 24:22.2 at the 2009 Northeast-10 Men’s Cross Country Championship Sunday, hosted by Saint Michael’s College. The Yellow Jackets placed fifth as a team, marking the four-year old program’s best-ever finish at the meet.

Springfield, Mass. – Redshirt freshman #Victor Kemboi# (Eldoret, Kenya) claimed first place with a time of 25:03, propelling the American International College men’s cross country team to a second place finish out of 12 teams at the WNEC Invitational. Freshman #Julien Devanne# (St. Sylvain D'Anjou, France) finished just behind Kemboi in second place in a time of 26:13.
