Greg Hill '71
Hill was a two-year basketball standout from
1968-70, one of the most successful periods in program history. He
led the Yellow Jackets to a pair of NCAA College Division District
I championships and a pair of Elite Eight appearances, including a
third-place finish in the 1968-69 season. A two-time First Team
All-America selection by the National Association of Basketball
Coaches, Hill led the Yellow Jackets in scoring and rebounding in
each of his two seasons, averaging 23.9 points and 19.2 rebounds
per game as a senior. He holds every school record for field goal
percentage and still ranks ninth in career rebounding (775) and
21st in scoring (1,091) despite playing just two seasons.
Hill spent four years playing professionally following graduation,
three years in France (1971-74) and one season in Holland
(1974-75). He would go on to work for both the Department of Human
Resources and the Juvenile Justice department in his native New
York City, and also served as an assistant to United States
Congressman Robert Garcia for four years. He resides in Bronx, N.Y.
