KEVIN WORTMAN
Kevin Wortman was a member of the AIC Hockey team prior to graduating in 1991. He played in 116 games with the Yellow Jackets, scoring 57 goals and tallying 80 assists for 137 career points, which currently places him 20th on AIC's all-time scoring list. Wortman was a two-time ECAC all-star and led the team to an ECAC Championship in 1990 and was named the championship's Most Valuable Player. He served as team captain his senior year and was named the 1990-91 ECAC Player of the Year.
Wortman was drafted by the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey
League and began his professional hockey career with the team's
International Hockey League affiliate, Salt Lake Golden Eagles. He
finished fourth on the team scoring his rookie year and was the
recipient of the Ken McKenzie Trophy for Outstanding American-Born
Rookie in 1991-92. Wortman made his NHL debut with Calgary during
the 1993-94 season, playing in five games with the Flames after
spending most of the 1993-94 season the American Hockey League's
Saint John Flames. He led all Saint John defensemen in scoring at
the time of his promotion.
