Boston – The American International College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships Saturday, which were hosted by UMass Lowell at Franklin Park in Boston. The men’s team placed 43rd of 47 teams, while the women's team placed 23rd out of 27 teams.
Freshman Brian Mulwo (Kenya) paced the Yellow Jackets, placing 161st with a time of 26:53 and sophomore
Matt Hegarty (Springfield, Mass.) placed 225th with a time of 27:42. Freshman
Kyle Mackie (Amherstburg, Ont.) finished 288th with a time of 28:47 and sophomore
Malcolm Forbes (Queens, N.Y.) finished in 296th place with a time of 30:11. Freshman
Travis Allen (Linden, N.J.) rounded out AIC’s top-five with a time o 30:50, placing him 300th overall.
For the women's team freshman
Jen D'Angelo (Watertown, Conn.)led the Yellow Jackets with a time of 21:47 finishing 119th. Sophomore
Sarah Beaudoin (Chicopee, Mass.) finished 134th with a time of 22:11, while classmate
Eddrise Gaye (Pawtucket, R.I.) placed 155th with a time of 24:08. Jessica Steele finished with a time of 25:12 placing 160th, while freshman
Sade Joseph (North Providence, R.I.) placed 163rd with a time of 25:57 to round out AIC's top five.
The Yellow Jackets return to action when they compete at the WNEC Invitational October 18.
