2008-09 Women's Basketball Schedule
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College women’s basketball team will open its 30-game 2008-09 schedule October 31 against USC-Aiken at Disney’s 2008 Division II Tip-Off Classic, it was announced by second-year head coach
Kristen Patterson. The Yellow Jackets will also face Southwest Minnesota State (November 1) and Delta State (November 2) in Orlando.
AIC will take on seven teams that make the 2008 NCAA championship tournament, four of which reside in the Northeat-10, including national semifinalist Delta State and national quarterfinalist Franklin Pierce. The Yellow Jackets will host the Ravens December 9 before traveling to Franklin Pierce February 21. AIC will close out the regular season February 24 with it hosts defending Northeast-10 champion Stonehill.
The Yellow Jackets will travel to Bentley November 19 before opening their home slate against Saint Michael’s November 22. AIC will take on Assumption twice this season, first on January 8 in Worcester and then February 7 in Springfield. The Yellow Jackets will also play NE-10 newcomer New Haven twice, first in Springfield January 10 and then in New Haven February 4.
AIC has a total of eight non-conference games on its schedule, including a trip to defending East Coast Conference champion Molloy November 17 and a home game against Dominican, which made the NCAA tournament last season, December 30.
The Yellow Jackets posted a record of 17-12 this past season, and placed fifth in the Northeast-10 with a mark of 12-10.
