SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College Department of Athletics promoted
Mary Threats to Assistant Athletic Director for Operations, it was announced by Director of Athletics Rich Bedard. She is entering her ninth year with the Yellow Jackets’ athletics program and previously served as the department’s office manager.
“Mary is an extremely valuable member of our department and it's my pleasure to recognize her talents and contributions in this way,” said Bedard. “We anticipate that Mary will continue in her traditional role and expand upon it in a number of ways. Our department had grown in size and energy recently, and Mary has helped make that possible. As we look to more growth in the future, we anticipate that Mary will be a big part of it.”
Threats will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the athletic department, which includes game management, coordinating team travel, special event planning, supervising student workers, purchasing and managing the department budget. She will also act as the department liaison with other departments at the College and manage the department’s master schedule.
Threats earned an associates degree in business management from Elizabethtown (Ky.) Community College in 1995 and has continued her education since arriving at AIC. She earned her bachelor’s in business management in 2007, graduating magna cum laude, and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda and Alpha Chi honor societies. Threats is currently pursuing her MBA at AIC.
