West Chester, Pa. – The American International College men’s soccer team posted an 8-1 victory over Lincoln at the West Chester Tournament Sunday afternoon to even its record at 1-1-0 on the season. Sophomores
Keon Bobb (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and
Sean Stevenson (Holyoke, Mass.) and freshman
Thomas Denomme (North Smithfield, R.I.) scored two goals each for the Yellow Jackets.
Stevenson got AIC on the board when he converted on a penalty kick 9:30 into the contest and graduate student
Luke Consolini (West Springfield, Mass.) scored what proved to be the game-winner less that two minutes later, with an assist from freshman Brett Barry (Springfield, Mass.).

Benard Kessie (Worcester, Mass.) scored on a penalty kick with 9:20 remaining in the first half to give the Yellow Jackets a 3-0 lead before senior Earvin Noel (Cocoriet, Trinidad and Tobag) got Lincoln (0-2-0) on the board with 1:09 remaining in the first stanza. Stevenson opened the second half scoring 3:39 into the frame with an assist from Barry to put the game out of reach a 4-1.
Bobb added each of the next two goals with 33:17 and 19:05 remaining in the second half and Denomme capped the scoring with back-to-back goals in a span of 3:07 for the 8-1 final.
Senior goalkeeper
Jon Thorpe (East Longmeadow, Mass.) needed to make just one save in 75 minutes to record the win in goal for AIC. It was his first-ever game as a member of the men’s soccer team and came less than 24 hours after he took part in the football team’s 45-19 win at C.W. Post. Freshman
William Herrera (Flushing, N.Y.) played the final 15 minutes in net and didn’t face a shot on goal.
Sophomore Andre Wilkinson (St. Michael’s, Barbados) made eight saves in taking the loss for the Lions. AIC out-shot Lincoln 18-4 in the game.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Friday when they host Assumption at Ludlow’s Lusitano Stadium at 5 p.m.
