Complete Northeast-10 Release; Listen to Tuesday's Game at Franklin Pierce
South Easton, Mass. – Sophomore forward/midfielder Sarah Boornazian (Farmington, Conn.) and Senior goalkeeper Danielle Hodecker (West Springfield, Mass.) of the American International College women’s soccer team were named the Northeast-10 Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, after leading the Yellow Jackets to a pair of wins at the AIC Women’s Soccer Classic. Sophomore midfielder Sarah Tomlinson (Clitheroe, England) was named the conference’s weekly honor roll.
Boornazian scored five goals in AIC’s first two games of the season, netting two goals in a 5-0 win over Caldwell and scoring three consecutive goals in the 4-0 win over Wilmington. She shared the award with Franklin Pierce’s Angelika Johansson (So., F, Falkenberg, Sweden), who broke a program record and matched another as she scored five goals in a 9-1 win over Holy Family.
Hodecker posted a 2-0-0 record in goal after making three saves in 82:05 in a win against Caldwell and recording four saves in 73:03 in a win over Wilmington. Tomlinson scored two goals and added an assist in her two games played. She scored a goal on a penalty kick and dished out an assist in the victory over Wilmington and added a goal in the win over Caldwell.
