Ellington, Conn. – The American International College men’s golf team tied for fourth as a team with a three-day total of 906 (296-306-304) at the Connecticut Cup, which was held at the par-72 Ellington Ridge Country Club. Junior
Garrett Beyor (Monson, Mass.) tied for seventh overall with a six-over par 222 (71-76-75).
The University of Arkansas-Little Rock won the event with a four-over par 868 (287-288-293). The University of Connecticut (293-301-312) and Sacred Heart University (304-297-305) also tied for fourth. The Yellow Jackets were the only non-Division I program at the tournament.
Junior
Greg Strattner (Westfield, Mass.) tied for 15th with a nine-over par 225 (75-75-75). Freshman
Nate Pereira (Ludlow, Mass.) placed 22nd with an 11-over par 227 (75-75-77) and junior
Kent Graham (Kamuela, Hawaii) tied for 32nd with a 16-over par 232 (75-80-77). Freshman
Anthony Roberts (Ludlow, Mass.) finished 68th competing as an individual (82-87-90-260).
AIC will next compete at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship October 18-20 at the Captains Golf Clun in Brewster.
