Colchester, Vt. – The American International College men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Saint Michael’s College Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 contest. The Purple Knights improved to 7-4-3 overall and 3-4-3 in the NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 7-9-0 overall and 4-6-0 in conference play.
Freshman forward Ben Lessard (Allenstown, N.H.) scored the only goal of the game in the 38th-minute off a pass from junior midfielder Ryan Gannon (Colchester, Conn.) and senior keeper Jason Burnett (South Burlington, Vt.) registered three saves to earn the win in goal for Saint Michael’s. The Yellow Jackets outshot the Purple Knights 15-10 and had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
AIC returns home Tuesday when it hosts Southern Connecticut State University in 7 p.m. Northeast-10 contest at Ronald J. Abdow Field.
