Men's Soccer Blanked by Southern Connecticut

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College men’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to visiting Southern Connecticut State University Tuesday night at Ronald J. Abdow Field. The Owls improved to 11-3-1 overall and 8-2-1 in the Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 7-10-0 overall and 4-7-0 in conference play.

Freshman midfielder Yoni Feldman (Ramat-Gan, Israel) scored the only goal SCSU would need in the game 23:51 into the contest and sophomore forward Cedric Panzu (Mons-En-Baroeul, France) made it a 2-0 advantage for the Owls with 9:48 to go in the first half.

Sophomore midfielder Paul Templeton (Saltcoats, Scotland) scored on a free kick with 4:50 remaining in the opening stanza and sophomore forward Eric Vasquez (Meriden, Conn.) capped the scoring in the 68th-minute.

Sophomore keeper Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) earned the win in goal for SCSU, while senior keeper Ryan Brooks-Newton (Selkirk, N.Y.) took the loss between the pipes for AIC.

The Yellow Jackets return to action Saturday when they host Saint Anselm at 6 p.m. in a Northeast-10 contest.
