Waltham, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision at third-ranked Bentley University Friday night in a Northeast-10 contest. The Falcons improved to 14-4 overall and 8-2 in the Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets closed the season at 6-12 overall and 4-6 in conference play.
Senior midfielder Courtney Bartlett (Brunswick, Maine) put Bentley ahead just 56 seconds into the game and the score remained 1-0 until senior midfielder Nicole Murphy (Dedham, Mass.) scored in the 53rd-minute. Freshman forward Nicole Dion (Luneburg, Mass.) closed the scoring just over two minutes later for the 3-0 final.
Senior goalie Alyssa Sliney (Brewster, Mass.) made five saves to record the shutout in goal, while sophomore
Kim Steiner (Little Falls, N.Y.) registered 14 saves, 10 of which came in the first half.
The Falcons outshot AIC 27-7 and had a 9-6 advantage in penalty corners.
