Manchester, N.H. – The American International College women’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Saint Anselm College Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 contest. Junior back Samantha Larson (San Jose, Calif.) scored her first goal as a Yellow Jacket.

The Hawks improved to 8-8-1 overall and 7-7-0 in the NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 7-9-2 overall and 4-8-2 in conference play.

Senior forward Heidi Reece (Salem, N.Y.) scored just 2:04 into the game and that marker held until Larson got AIC on the board in the 64th-minute off a corner kick from junior back Cassie Ashwell (Agawam, Mass.). The game appeared to be heading to overtime until junior forward/midfielder Jennifer Pearl (Stoughton, Mass.) scored with 2:03 left in the contest.

Junior keeper Jacqueline Cooney (Braintree, Mass.) made six saves to earn the decision in goal, while senior keeper Kara Potts (Westfield, Mass.) had nine-stops in taking the loss.

The Yellow Jackets will close out the 2009 season with a non-conference game at Dowling Wednesday at 7 p.m.
