Colchester, Vt. – Freshman
Glarius Rop (Eldoret, Kenya) placed first overall with a conference-record time of 24:22.2 at the 2009 Northeast-10 Men’s Cross Country Championship Sunday, hosted by Saint Michael’s College. The Yellow Jackets placed fifth as a team, marking the four-year old program’s best-ever finish at the meet.
Stonehill College took the team title with five runners placing in the top-10. The previous championship record time of 24:33 was set by Greg Wardell (Springfield College) in 1981 and was equaled by Ruben Sanca (UMass Lowell) last year.

Victor Kemboi (Eldoret, Kenya) placed fourth overall with a time of 25:06.8 and sophomore
Brian Mulwo (Kapsabet, Kenya) placed 13th with a time of 26:02.1. Freshman
Julien Devanne (St. Sylvain D’Anjou, France) finished 65th with a time of 27:45.5, while senior
Malcolm Forbes (Queens, N.Y.) and freshman
James Denzine (Wiesbaden, Germany) finished 98th and 100th with respective times of 29:20.8 and 29:31.5.
AIC will next compete at the NCAA East Region Championship November 7, hosted by UMass Lowell a Boston’s Franklin Park.
