Taila de Souza (Cunupia, Trinidad & Tobago) was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Week and sophomore
Kervelle Redhead (St. James, Trinidad & Tobago) was named the Northeast-10 Setter of the Week after leading the American International College women’s volleyball team to a 3-1 record last week.
De Souza averaged 4.21 kills and 2.64 digs last week. She had 18 kills while hitting .441 in a 3-0 win over Franklin Pierce and hit .542 with 14 kills and just one error in 24 attempts in a 3-0 win over Millersville. She had 20 kills and 14 digs against New Haven.
Redhead averaged 11.29 assists, 2.21 digs and 0.64 service aces per set last week. She had 52 assists with 13 digs against New Haven and tallied 43 assists with four aces and five digs in a win at Saint Rose. She closed the week notching 35 assists with nine digs and three aces in a win over Franklin Pierce and handed out 28 assists with four digs in a win over Millersville.
The Yellow Jackets (17-9, 7-6 NE-10) will next host Saint Anselm College Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Butova Gymnasium.
