Men's Soccer Wins Season Finale, Blanks New Haven 2-0

West Haven, Conn. – Senior midfielder Leo Santos (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) scored one goal with one assist to lead the American International College men’s soccer team to a 2-0 win a the University of New Haven Wednesday afternoon in the final game of the season for both teams. The Yellow Jackets ended the season with an overall record of 8-11-0, including a 5-8-0 mark in the Northeast-10.

Santos opened the scoring just 4:42 into the game as he dribbled around a defender and sophomore keeper J.J. Comeau (Wallingford, Conn.) before chipping the ball into a wide-open net. The score remained 1-0 until the 53rd-minute when Santos setup junior forward Sean Stevenson (Holyoke, Mass.) for his second goal of the season.

Sophomore keeper Corey Cameron (Westfield, Mass.) made four saves as he earned a shutout in his first career start at AIC. Cameau took the loss for the Chargers (1-17/0-13 NE-10) allowing one goal with one save in 41:37. Sophomore keeper Johnathan Creem (Naugatuck, Conn.) allowed one goal and had three stops in 48:23 of relief.

The Yellow Jackets outshot New Haven 19-9 and had a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
