BERNARDSTON, Mass. – Freshman
Colin Dansereau (Ludlow, Mass.) was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year after leading the American International College men’s golf team to a second-place finish at the 2009 Northeast-10 Championship Tournament. AIC hosted the tournament at the par-72 Crumpin-Fox Golf Club.
Adelphi University won the team title with a two-day total of 620 (311-309). The Yellow Jackets slipped to second (310-313-623) after being tied for first with Southern New Hampshire University after day-one. The Penmen placed third with a 632 (310-322).
Dansereau tied for eighth overall with a two-day total of 155 (75-80), while junior
Greg Strattner (Westfield, Mass.) tied for third with a 151 (75-78). He was just one stroke behind medalist Shane Winslow (72-78) of Southern New Hampshire University and Stuart Pulkinen (77-73-150) from Adelphi University. Winslow won a three-hole playoff to earn the individual title.
Junior
Garrett Beyor (Monson, Mass.) tied for 14th with a 158 (82-76) and sophomore
Kevin Daniels (Anchorage, Alaska) tied for 19th with a 160 (81-79). Junior
Kent Graham (Kamuela, Hawaii) tied for 30th with a 164 (79-85).
AIC will next play for the Connecticut Cup October 12-13 at Ellington Ridge Golf Club.
