Rindge, N.H. – No. 12 Franklin Pierce University recorded a 3-0 northeast-10 victory over the American International College women’s soccer team Tuesday night. The Ravens improved to 11-2-0 overall and 9-1-0 in the NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets slipped to 6-6-1 overall and 3-6-1 in conference play.
Senior midfielder Gabriella Demoner (Victoria, Brazil) scored 7:38 into the game and later made it a 2-0 Franklin Pierce lead when she netted her 23rd goal of the season 10:37 into the second half. Junior forward Angelika Johansson (Falkenberg, Swwden) capped the scoring 1:46 later off a centering feed from Domoner.
Sophomore keeper Jocelyn Leon (Lenox, Mass.) stopped all three shots on goal to earn the win for the Ravens, while senior keeper
Kara Potts (Westfield, Mass.) had seven stops in 67:32 in taking the loss. Freshman keeper
Amber McLeen (Leeds, England) had three stops in the final 22:28 for AIC.
Franklin Pierce outshot the Yellow Jackets 25-8 and had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
AIC will look to bounce back Friday night when it travels to Assumption College for a 7 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
