Taila de Souza (Cunupia, Trinidad & Tobago) earned second-team Northeast-10 all-conference honors and sophomore outside hitter
Ellisha Terry (Fort Worth, Texas) was a third-team selection. The announcement was made at the annual Northeast-10 Championship Tournament banquet.
De Souza led the team with 357 digs while recording 182 digs, 56 blocks and 26 service aces. She ranked fifth in the Northeast-10 with 3.37 kills per set and was sixth in hitting percentage at .293 in her first season on the court for the Yellow Jackets. De Souza registered 19 double-digit kill performances, all of which were in the team’s final 20 matches of the regular season.
Terry, the 2008 Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year, ranked second on the team with 352 kills, 342 digs and 51 service aces this season. She ranked sixth in the NE-10 with 3.32 kills per set and seventh with 0.48 aces per set. Terry recorded 19 double-digit kill performances and reached double-digits in digs 16 times.
The Yellow Jackets are 23-10 this season and qualified for the conference tournament for the second straight year. AIC, which was eighth in the final NCAA Regional Ranking of the regular season, will learn if it qualified for the NCAA Championship Tournament Sunday night when the tournamet field is posted on NCAA.com.
