Evansville, Ind. – Freshman
Glarius Rop (Eldoret, Kenya) placed third overall at the 2009 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship, hosted by the University of Southern Indiana, with a time of 30:32.4. He became American International College’s first-ever men’s cross country all-American with his third-place finish.
Rop finished right behind national runner-up Daniel Kirwa of Harding, who clocked in with a time of 30:28.2. Ruben Mwei of Adams State won the race with a time of 30:27.8.

Victor Kemboi (Eldoret, Kenya) finished 50th overall with a time of 32:47.5.
Rop and Kemboi were the first two AIC runners to qualify for nationals after recording a one-two finish at the NCAA East Region Championship, leading the Yellow Jackets to a fifth-place team finish. Rop finished first at the regional and was named the NCAA East Region Runner of the Year.
