Linsey Fernandes (Ajax, Ont.) of the American International College field hockey team was named a first-team all-conference selection, it was announced by the Northeast-10 office. Freshman midfielder
Lisa Duckles (Netcong, N.J.) was named to the all-rookie team.
Fernandes, who was an all-rookie selection last year, started all 18 games for the Yellow Jackets and ranked fourth on the team in scoring with three goals and two assists for eight points.
Duckles also started all 18 games in her first season at AIC and was second on the team in scoring with five goals and a team-best three assists for 13 points. She was named the NE-10 Freshman of the Week after scoring twice in a 2-1 overtime win over Saint Michael’s.
The Yellow Jackets finished the season with an overall record of 6-12 and finished eighth in the Northeast-10 with a 4-6 mark in conference play. The Yellow Jackets’ six victories established a new school-record for wins in a season.
