SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The American International College women’s tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to the College of Saint Rose Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights improved to 3-10 overall and 2-5 in the Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 0-5 overall and in conference play.
Senior Sarah Pfefferkorn (Ludlow, Mass.) recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win over junior Rachael O’Brien (Lowville, N.Y.) at first singles and teamed with classmate Tyler Rockefeller (Greenlawn, N.Y.) to post an 8-4 victory over sophomores Melissa Leighton (Shokan, N.Y.) and Stephanie Paine (Northford, Conn.).
AIC will next travel to Holy Cross Wednesday for a 3 p.m. match-up.
