Yellow Jackets Fall in Home Finale

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College women’s lacrosse team lost 17-11 Tuesday afternoon to Franklin Pierce. With the loss the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-10 this season and to 1-7 in the Northeast-10, while the win improves the Ravens to 7-7 this year and to 4-5 in the conference. Senior Katie Warner (Westfield, Mass.) netted four goals and assisted on another to lead the AIC offense.

Sophomore Kara Kirkland (Plymouth, Mass.) tallied three goals for the Yellow Jackets, while freshman Katie Carr (Florence, Mass.) scored twice and dished out one assist. Junior Morgan Mastronardi (Corunna, Ont.) and sophomore Alex Hudyka (East Longmeadow, Mass.) each recorded a goal and an assist in the loss.

Sophomore Lauren Stille (North Quincy, Mass.) led the Franklin Pierce offense score eight times, while classmate Jordan Baillargeon (Westfield, Mass.) tallied five goals and an assist. Freshman Brianna Nash (Oceanside, N.Y.) netted three goals in the victory.

Sophomore netminder Gina Gallo (Westfield, Mass.) made 17 saves for the Yellow Jackets, while freshman Julie Bolduc (Atkinson, N.H.) stopped 12 shots to claim the victory for the Ravens.

AIC was outshot 43-31 on the day.

Next up, the Yellow Jackets head to North Andover, Mass. to take on NE-10 foe Merrimack at 6 p.m.
