SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College men’s lacrosse team lost their home-opener 17-8 to Assumption Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-6 this season and to 0-3 in the Northeast-10, while the Greyhounds improve to 4-5 on the year and to 2-3 in the conference. Sophomore
Mark Taylor (North Andover, Mass.) made 18 stops between the pipes for AIC in the loss.

Aaron McNab (West Springfield, Mass.) tallied two goals and two assists for four points, while freshman
Nicholas Brett (Louden, N.H.) also had four points with three goals and one assist for the Yellow Jackets.. Senior
Mike Szawlowski (Leeds, Mass.) and sophomores
Dan MacIssac (Port Perry, Ont.) and
Travis Ortensi (South Hadley, Mass.) each found the back of the net once in the loss.
Junior Kevin Klaskin (Norfolk, Mass.) registered five goals and five assists for 10 points on the day for Assumption, while freshman Tim Roy (Avon, Conn.) recorded four goals and one assist. Sophomores John Murphy (Walpole, Mass.) and Nicholas Violandi (Duxbury, Mass.) each netted two goals and dished out one assist.
Junior Dan Shea (Wrentham, Mass.) stopped five shots in recording the win for the Greyhounds, before being replaced by sophomore Scott Vogel (Powell, Ohio), who made two saves of his own.
AIC was outshot 46-26 on the afternoon.
Next up, the Yellow Jackets take on NE-10 foe Merrimack at home on Monday at 4 p.m.
