Fontaine Having Stellar Campaign for NECBL's Holyoke Blue Sox
Dillion Fontaine
In addition to being a starting pitcher, Dillon Fontaine led AIC at the plate in 2009.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Pitcher Dillon Fontaine (Amenia, N.Y.), who recently completed his sophomore year at American International College, has proven to be one of the most reliable relievers for the Holyoke Blue Sox of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) this season. He is sporting a 1-0 record in five relief appearances and has yet to allow an earned run in 7.2 innings of work.

Fontaine tossed two scoreless innings in his debut against the Vermont Mountaineers June 6 and then earned the decision after June 12 as the Blue Sox rallied to beat the Danbury Westerners. He also tossed two scoreless innings as Holyoke blanked the Newport Gulls June 25 and tossed a scoreless inning in his last appearance on June 30 against the North Adams SteepleCats.

The Blue Sox are at Danbury later today (July 7) and will start a four-game home stand July 9 against Pittsfield at Holyoke’s MacKenzie Stadium. Yellow Jacket fans can follow Fontaine and the Holyoke Blue Sox by visiting www.holyokesox.com.
