Julie Collignon (Orvault, France) of the American International College women’s cross country team and freshman
Glarius Rop (Eldoret, Kenya) of the men's cross country team were both named the Northeast-10 Athlete and Freshman of the Week after leading the Yellow Jackets at the 37th Annual Shriners’ Invitational last week.
Collignon placed eighth overall at the Shriners’ Invitational with a school-record time of 18:29 on the 5K women’s course. Rop won the race on the men’s side with a school and course-record time of 24:05 on the 8K course. He finished the race 35 seconds ahead of the field.
The Yellow Jackets will next compete at the Elms Invitation al Saturday at 11 a.m.
