Men's Golf Places Tied for Second at Season Opening Assumption Shootout

SUTTON, Mass. – Freshman Nate Pereira (Ludlow, Mass.) led the way for the Yellow Jackets, placing tied for fourth with a 75 after 18-holes, as the American International College men’s golf team finished tied for second out of the seven competing teams at the Assumption Shootout. AIC tallied a team score of 306 on the afternoon.

Junior Matt Demeo (Bohemia, N.Y.) and sophomore Stuart Pulkinen (Toronto, Canada), from Adelphi University, finished tied for the tournament win, as both scored a 72. Demeo and Pulkinen led Panthers to win the tournament with a team score of 294.

Juniors Garrett Beyor (Monson, Mass.) and Greg Strattner (Westfield, Mass.) finished tied for ninth after each shot a 76. Freshman Colin Dansereau (Ludlow, Mass.) scored a 79 on the afternoon, while junior Kent Graham (Kamuela, Hawaii) rounded out the group with an 85.

Sophomore Kevin Daniels (Anchorage, Alaska) and freshman Anthony Roberts (Ludlow, Mass.) competed as individuals for the Yellow Jackets. Daniels finished in third with a 74, the low score of the AIC golfers, while Roberts shot an 83.

Next up, the Yellow Jackets head to the Colgate Invitational in Hamliton, N.Y. at the Seven Oaks Golf Club.
