Lara dropped a 6-4 first round decision to Ryan Renkey, but rebounded to pin Alex Abreu in 2:47 and then registered a 7-3 win over Kevin Aspril in the consolation bracket. His day ended quarterfinals with a 7-4 loss to George Ester.
Thompson lost a major decision to Corey Lear, 13-2, in the opening round before registering a 10-4 win over Jordan Miller in the consolation bracket. He then posted a 14-3 major decision over Arthur Khamukov before falling to Kevin Matyas in the quarterfinals, 9-7.
Senior 149
Sam Gauvine (Enfield, Conn.) pinned Kyle Toth in 5:37 after suffering a 2-0 loss to Brian Tanen, but retired after the win over Toth. Junior 184
Yaakov Bloch (Ashkelon, Israel) pinned Shane Bragg in 2:27 before getting stuck by Andre Petroski in 3:29. He then got pinned by Peter Morano in 2:41 in the consolation bracket.
