The American International College community lost one of its own Monday morning when
Ariel Ingoglia, who was a nursing major and a member of the women’s cross country team, died in a motor vehicle accident near her hometown of Dover Plains, New York.

Springfield Republican - AIC mourns freshman cross country runner Ariel Ingoglia who died in an auto accident
Ingoglia died after losing control of her Jeep on a snow covered shoulder on Route 343 in the town of Washington, New York. She careened down an embankment and into six feet of water in a pond just off the road at approximately 10:18 a.m.
Authorities said Ingoglia, who was alone in the car, had a weak pulse when she was removed from the vehicle. She died of hypothermia later Monday after being transported to Sharon (Conn.) Hospital.
While Ingoglia was only at AIC for one semester, her loss will be felt across the campus.
Head cross country and track & field coach Leo Mayo told the
Poughkeepsie Journal “the kids are going to miss her dearly. Whatever she picked to do in her life, she was going to do well at it."
AIC public relations director Craig Greenberg added “the college is definitely devastated by the loss. She was very well liked by everyone here."
Calling hours will be held at Allens Funeral Home (3270 Franklin Avenue in Millbrook, N.Y.) Friday afternoon from 2-4 p.m., Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9-11 a.m.
A funeral Mass will be held at noon Saturday at St. Joseph Church, North Avenue, in MIllbrook, N.Y. AIC will have a memorial service for on January 21st at 2 p.m. in the West Wing of the Karen Sprague Cultural Center.
