SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman
Sanya Foster (Springfield, Mass.) placed second in the shot put with a school-record throw of 11.92 meters as the American International College women’s track & field team placed fourth of six teams at the Springfield College Invitational. She also finished seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 10.98 meters.
Sophomore
Julie Collignon (Orvault, France) won the 1-mile run with a time of 5:21.45 and was the runner-up in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.22. Junior
Sarah Beaudoin (Chicopee, Mass.) placed second in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:38.47 and placed sixth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:39.39.
Sophomore
Kim Steiner (Little Falls, N.Y.) placed third in the pole vault after clearing 2.44 meters and finished seventh in the 55-meter dash with a time of 8.25 seconds. Freshman
Darsel Springer (Bonair Gardens, Trinidad & Tobago) placed fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 9.31 meters.
Sophomore
Lashelle Bunion (Rahway, N.J.) placed fifth in the weight throw and seventh in the shot put with respective distances of 11.32 meters and 10.35 meters.
The Yellow Jackets will next compete at Boston University’s Valentine Invitational February 12-13.
