SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 20, 2006) - Garrett Olson (Norway, Maine) was 2-4 with four runs batted in as No. 15 Franklin Pierce College plated five runs in the seventh inning as it topped American International College 7-1 in Northeast-10 baseball Thursday afternoon at AIC Park.  The Ravens, who have won eight out of their last nine games, improve to 30-9 and 15-5 in league play, while the Yellow Jackets are 9-19 and 5-15 in the league.

Olson delivered a double in the third inning that scored Mike Chambers (Londonderry, N.H.) to give FPC a 2-0 lead, then hit a two-out, three run triple in the seventh inning that made it 5-1.  Chambers also finished with a pair of hits for the Ravens, who outhit AIC 10-8.

The Yellow Jackets made it 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Tyler Cooke (Brattleboro, Vt.) led off the frame with a single and came home on a single by Kevin Farrell (Wilbraham, Mass.).  Neal Quesnel (South Hadley, Mass.) and Jon Ferry (Thorndike, Mass.) each had a pair of hits for AIC, while Dominic Meattey (Fitzwilliam, N.H.) went 1-3 and extended his hitting streak to nine games, the longest by an American International player since 2004.

Tyler Cummings (South Paris, Maine) went the distance on the hill for the Ravens and struck out seven without allowing a walk.  Bryan Soltis (Plantsville, Conn.) went 6.2 innings and allowed eight hits while fanning five.  Patrick Salmon (Worcester, Mass.) worked the final 2.1 innings and surrendered a pair of hits.

AIC returns to action Saturday when it travels to UMass Lowell.
