GREYHOUNDS RACE PAST BASEBALL
WORCESTER, Mass. (April 26, 2007) - Assumption College
jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings and never looked back
as it blanked American International College 10-0 in Northeast-10
baseball at Rocheleau Field Thursday afternoon. The
Greyhounds are now 14-22 and 6-17 in the NE-10, while AIC is 8-23
and 4-17 in the league.
The Greyhounds got on the board with a run in the second and would score three more times in the third to take a 4-0 lead. After single runs in the fourth and fifth, Assumption would salt the game away with a four-spot in the eighth.
AIC, which was outhit by Assumption 14-5, was led by Dan Fey (Plymouth, Mass.), who banged out a double in a pinch hitting role. Uchon Yi (Windsor Locks, Conn.) worked the first six frames for AIC before Mike Lavato (Springfield, Mass.) relieved him for the final two innings.
AIC is scheduled to play at New Haven Friday.
