RAVENS SOAR OVER BASEBALL 4-1
RINDGE, N.H. (March 28, 2007) - Matt Rhodes (Charlestown,
R.I.) collected a pair of hits, but his American International
College baseball team fell to No. 21 Franklin Pierce 4-1 Wednesday
in Northeast-10 baseball action. The Ravens improve to 14-4
and 1-0 in league play, while the Yellow Jackets are 4-5 and 0-2 in
the NE-10.
Franklin Pierce, the defending Northeast Region champions, took a 2-0 lead on a Keith Renaud home run in the first inning, then tacked on two more runs in the third when Keith and Kevin Renaud led off the frame with back-to-back doubles and Kevin Rivers drove in Kevin Renaud for the 4-0 lead.
AIC would plate its only run in the top of the fourth. Bryan Turney (Auburn, Mass.) would work a one-out walk and after moving to third on a Rhodes single, would come home on a sacrifice fly by Dominic Meattey (Fitzwilliam, N.H.)
Keith Renaud earned the win on the hill for FPC, fanning 12 in eight innings of work. Uchon Yi (Windsor Locks, Conn.) took the complete game loss for AIC, scattering 11 hits while fanning three.
AIC hosts Bryant in its home opener Thursday
afternoon.
