KERTIS HUSSEY NAMED NE-10 FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (November 13, 2006)
- Freshman wide receiver Kertis Hussey (Paterson,
N.J.) of the American International College football team was named
the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week, it was announced by the
conference office on Monday. Hussey was honored for his
efforts against Bentley on Saturday.
Against the Falcons, Hussey caught a team-high five balls for 38 yards and a touchdown Saturday, his touchdown grab on a four-yard pass from Jared Corbin late in the first half giving American International a 7-0 lead. He had a long reception on the afternoon of 15 yards.
Recently wrapping up his freshman campaign,
Hussey was the Yellow Jackets' leading receiver, catching 30 passes
for 385 yards and four touchdowns despite missing a game. He
had a season-high seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown
against Southern Connecticut on September 22.
