HOLLEY NAMED TOP FRESHMAN FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (September 18, 2006)
- Terrence Holley (Bronx, N.Y.), a redshirt
freshman on the American International College football team, was
named the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week for the second straight
week on Monday. Holley was honored for his efforts in a 21-18
win over Bentley that made the Yellow Jackets 3-0 for the first
time since 1980.
Holley, who finished with four total tackles, including 3.0 tackles for a loss and a pair of sacks, came up big in a key goal line stand against the Falcons early in the fourth quarter. With Bentley facing second-and-goal at the AIC three-yeard line, Holley stopped a Bentley run for a two-yard loss. On the next play, Holley came up with an interception of a John White pass at the goal line and had a 14-yard return that was negated by a personal foul.
Over AIC's first three games, Holley ranks third on the squad with 18 total tackles, while he leads the Yellow Jackets with seven tackles for a loss and is second in sacks with three.
AIC returns to action Friday night when it
travels to Southern Connecticut for a 7:00 game at Jess Dow
Field. The game can be seen online at http://www.ne-10.tv/ or heard online via
