SIGNORELLI NAMED NORTHEAST-10 ALL-ACADEMIC
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (October 31, 2006) -
Junior Nicole Signorelli (East Greenbush, N.Y.) of
the American International College field hockey team has been named
to the Northeast-10 Conference Field Hockey All-Academic Team as a
Second Team selection. It marks the first time Signorelli has
been chosen for the squad.
Signorelli, a defender for the Yellow Jackets, is an Occupational Science major with a 3.61 GPA. This season, she started 17 of AIC's 18 games while playing in all 18. Over her three-year career, Signorelli has played in 54 out of a possible 54 games, earning 52 starts. She recorded a pair of assists as a freshman in 2004.
To be eligible for selection to the academic
teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the
following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of
the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant
contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a
4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her
current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are
chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
