Field Hockey Downed on the Road 5-1

N.Y. - Nicole Spence (Port Jefferson, NY) turned away 12 shots on net and Jamie Anderson (North Attleboro, Mass.) scored her third goal of the week, but it wasn't enough as the Yellow Jackets fell on the road to C.W. Post 5-1 Sunday afternoon in a non-conference match-up.

Post dominated the match from the opening whistle to the end of regulation, finishing the match with 16 more shots than the visiting Yellow Jacket's (25-9).

C.W. Post led the match 2-0 going into halftime after Krystal Napolitano and Amanda Nann scored goals inside of the 30 minute marker in the period. Nann's goal was scored on a penalty stroke and it was the first of two goals on the afternoon.

Anderson made things interesting posting her third goal of the week on a shot off of a rebound inside of the box, just after the clock stroked the 50 minute mark, making the score 2-1. Anderson's goal was unassisted.

Nann, Elaine Williams and Amber Limanni all posted scores before the end of the match, giving C.W. Post a convincing four goal win.

AIC will host Stonehill on September 27th at 7:15.
