FALCONS FLY PAST YELLOW JACKETS 4-2

Watertown, Mass. (February 2, 2007).- Bentley scored two goals early in the first-period and the Yellow Jackets were never able to recover, falling to the Falcons 4-2 at the Ryan Skating Arena in Atlantic Hockey Action.

Bentley got on the board twice before the 10 minute mark in the first-period. With 11:24 showing on the clock Brendan Harrison notched the first goal of the game for the Falcons. The shot from the slot by Harrison was re-directed by a Yellow Jacket defender in front of the net, eventually slipping though AIC goalie Tom Fenton's (Sarnia, ON) five-hole for the score. The second goal was just under a minute later. Dain Prewitt swung in and flicked a score past Fenton, giving Bentley a quick two-goal advantage. Despite the score, AIC played aggressive in the first-period, ripping off 10 quality shots on goal, which were all turned away.

AIC got one of the two goals back in the second. The Yellow Jackets took advantage of a two-man advantage when four Falcons were stuffed in the penalty box. At the 11:02 mark Chad Richardson (Regina, SK) tipped in a shot from Mark Pavli (Sanira, ON) for the goal. Senior captain Jeremy Leroux (Lunenburg, ON) also registered an assist on the score.

Less than two minutes into the third Bentley would regain their two goal lead when Pat Percella scored on a break-away goal, making the third 3-1 Falcons. Just under one minute after the Percella goal Nick DeCroo broke in on another break-away and made the game a third goal contest in Bentley's favor.

Although down three, the Yellow Jackets showed fight scoring at the 16:09 mark when Bryan Jurynec (Orland Park, IL) scored on a goal assisted by Greg Genovese (Hingham, MA) and Jeason Lecours (Sherbrooke, PQ), making the score 4-2.  The three passed the puck around in front of the net before Jurynec ripped it home.

Neither team was able to score in the final 15 minutes of the game.

Fenton made 21 saves in net for the Yellow Jackets who fall to 5-21-0 overall and 5-18-0 in the AHA. Ray Jean stopped 31 shots for the Falcons who now improve to 11-14-1 overall and 10-11-0 in the AHA.

Bentley and AIC will meet up tomorrow night at 7:00 pm for the back end of the this home-and-home series.
