Box Score

West Springfield, Mass. (February 24, 2007).-  American International College fell 5-1 to the Air Force Falcons Saturday evening in AHA action. Mark Pavli (Sarnia, ON) scored the Yellow Jacket's lone goal. The loss drops AIC to 7-24-1 overall and 7-20-1 in the AHA. The win propels the Falcons to 16-15-5 overall and 13-10-5 in the AHA.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board first when Mike McMillan (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) tossed a beautiful crossing pass right in front of the net to Mark Pavli (Sarnia, ON) who scored at the 6:38 mark of the first period. Mark Fuqua (Shelby Township, MI) registered an assisted on the goal. Air Force tied the game at one when Eric Ehn took a feed from fellow first-liner Anthony Ramsey and scored his 23rd goal of the year 10:21 later. The goal for Ehn gave him 44 points in the conference which is a new Atlantic Hockey record.

The Falcons tacked on two more goals in the second frame. Billy Devoney scored at the 10:55 mark to make it 2-1, and Matt Charbonneau scored 1:28 before the second intermission to put Air Force up 3-1 going into the final frame.  The Falcons made it 4-1 6:09 into the third period on Charbonneau's second goal of the game, while Ehn would close out the scoring with 5:09 to play on his second goal of the contest, a power play goal.

Andrew Volkening made 20 saves for the Falcons while Tom Fenton (Sarnia, ON) turned away 31 shots for AIC.

AIC will be on the road next weekend in the first round of the AHA tournament. There opponent is yet to be determined.
