ICE HOCKEY FALLS 5-3 ON THE ROAD TO BENTLEY

Watertown, Mass. - Despite goals from three separate Yellow Jackets, AIC fell 5-3 to Bentley Saturday evening at the Ryan Skating Arena in Atlantic Hockey Action. The loss drops the Yellow Jackets to 3-17-0 overall and 3-14-0 in the AHA. The victory propels the Falcons to 9-11-0 overall and 8-8-0 in the AHA.

Bentley started the scoring early in the first period, just 26 seconds into the frame, when the team's leading scorer Jeff Gumaer beat AIC goalie Tom Fenton (Sarnia, Ontario). The Yellow Jackets would return the favor twice in the second period when they got goals from Matt Woodard (St. Louis Park, Minn.) and Mark Pavli (Sarnia, Ontario). Greg Genovese (Hingham, Mass.) and Jeremy Leroux (Lunenburg, Ontario) registered assists on the Woodard goal that was scored just 59 seconds into the frame while Jereme Tendler (Viceroy, Saskatchewan) and Chris Bolognino (Carol Stream, Ill) both added helpers on the Pavli goal at the 9:03 mark.

After the Pavli goal, Bentley would score four more times in the second frame. Genovese would earn his second point of the game when he scored a goal at the 14:58 mark making it a 4-3 game going into the third. 

Dain Prewitt would add the final goal of the game to secure the Bentley win at the 14:45 mark  in the final frame. AIC wasn't able to notch a goal in the final period. 

Fenton stopped 16 shots for the Yellow Jackets and Ray Jean turned away 22 for the Falcons.

AIC will travel to Holy Cross next weekend, kicking off  Friday night,  slated for a 7:00pm start time.
