West Springfield, Mass. (January 30, 2007).- Tom Fenton (Sarnia, ONT) made 22 saves en route to his first career shutout as American International College blanked Army 3-0 in an Atlantic Hockey contest at the Olympia Ice Center.  The win, AIC's first shutout since a 2-0 blanking of the Black Knights on November 12, 2004, improves it to 5-20-0 overall and 5-17-0 in Atlantic Hockey play, while Army is 14-10-4 and 11-7-4 in the league.

Bryan Jurynec (Orland Park, Ill.) finished with a pair of goals for the Yellow Jackets while Greg Genovese (Hingham, Mass.) had a pair of assists.

AIC controlled the first-period that didn't see a lot of offense. Both teams only combined for seven shots on net. The Yellow Jackets scored the lone goal of the first stanza at the 5:38 mark when Jurynec poked in a goal right in front of the net, assisted by Genovese and freshman Mike McMillan (Sault Ste. Marie, ON).

With just under six minutes to play in the second period AIC defensemen Chris Bolognino (Carol Stream, IL) tipped in a shot from Jeason Lecours (Sherbrooke, PQ) to score the second goal of the game for AIC and the only goal of the second frame. Geneovese notched his second point of the game registering an assist on the goal. Jurynec would close out the game's scoring with six seconds to play when he tallied an empty net goal, with Jeremy Leroux (Lunenburg, ONT) assisting on the goal.

Fenton, a sophomore, made 22 stops en route to the shutout, while Army netminder Josh Kassel registered 18 stops.

AIC returns to action Friday when it travels to Bentley for the front end of a home-and-home series, with game time set for 7:00.
