Large Named Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach at AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Trevor Large has been named the first-ever full-time men's ice hockey assistant coach at American International College, it was announced by head coach Gary Wright. Large, who has served as a graduate assistant coach each of the past two seasons, will assist in all aspects of the Yellow Jackets' Division I men's ice hockey program.

"Having a full-time assistant represents a big boost for our hockey program, and we are ecstatic that Trevor will be filling the position," said Wright. "He is an outstanding young coach, whose contributions to AIC hockey have already been significant."

A 2004 graduate of Ferris State, Large totaled 33 points in four seasons as a member of the Bulldogs men's ice hockey team and tallied a career-high 13 points in both his sophomore and junior seasons. He was named the team's Most Improved Player in 2001 and helped Ferris State to the 2003 CCHA regular season title.

"I greatly appreciate the opportunity to remain at AIC," added Large. "We have a strong group of players returning and I am excited about next season." 

The Yellow Jackets posted an 8-23-5 overall mark and an 8-17-3 conference record, which included ties to Dartmouth and then 16th-ranked Rensselaer.
