MCNEIL REACHES 1,000 POINT PLATEAU IN MEN'S HOOP SETBACK

BOX SCORE

RINDGE, N.H. (January 3, 2007) -  Magen McNeil (Philadelphia, Pa.) registered 23 points, including the 1,000th of his collegiate career, and grabbed nine rebounds, but visiting American International College fell 78-63 to Franklin Pierce in Northeast-10 men's basketball Wednesday night.  AIC is 5-7 overall and 4-5 in the league, while the Ravens are 7-6 and 5-4 in NE-10 play.

McNeil finished 9-15 from the floor.  He needed 11 points entering Wednesday's contest to reach 1,000, and would get it on a basket to beat the halftime buzzer that cut FPC's halftime lead to 46-34.  Jenar Harrison (Queens, N.Y.) was AIC's other double figure scorer as he added 12 points off the bench.

AIC trailed by as many as 17 in the first half and 12 at halftime, but the Yellow Jackets would get the lead down to six three times in the second half before the Ravens pulled aay.  FPC shot 51% for the contest, including a sizzling 54.8% in the first half, and also went to the free throw line 36 times, converting 28.  The Yellow Jackets were also outrebounded 36-28.

AIC returns to action Saturday when it hosts Holy Family in a 3:30 game.
