AIC Downs USIP 54-50 in Men's Hoops
Philadelphia, Pa. - Colson Senat and Vernon Dupree each
dropped 14 points as the American International College men's
basketball team defeated the University of the Sciences in
Philadelphia 54-50 in a non-conference match-up Saturday afternoon.
Both teams fought back-and-forth until the game's conclusion. Dupree sunk two free-throws with eight seconds on the clock helping the Yellow Jackets secure their four victory of the season.
AIC held a 13 point lead four minutes into the first frame and went into halftime holding a 29-22 margin over the Devils. USIP pounded the ball inside, outscoring the Yellow Jackets by 18 points in the paint (30-12). It was Jacket's 45.5% shooting compared to the Devil's 25.8% shooting from three-point land that turn the tide in the Yellow Jackets favor.
Sesoo Ikpah scored in double figures for AIC adding 10 points, while Jeff Dasado chipped in with eight points including a pair of three-point buckets as the Yellow Jackets improve to 4-6 overall on the season.
Jarrod Frazier led all scorers with 17 points while also tearing down six rebounds for the Devils. Keith Dundas dropped 12 points as USIP falls to 4-4 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets will travel to face Holy Family tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 pm.
