Men's Basketball Falls to Post in Season-Opener 68-45

Bridgeport, Conn. - Post University had three players score in double figures as it defeated the American International College men's basketball team, 68-45, in the season-opener for both teams at Bridgeport University's Purple Knight Classic. Sophomore forward Ryan Leak (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored a team-best 11 points with four rebounds for the Yellow Jackets.

Senior guard/forward Arthur Robertson (Far Rockaway, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with game-highs of 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Eagle in the victory. Junior forward A.J. Reitter (Baltimore, Md.) added 14 points and five rebounds, while junior center Jesse Iyalekhue (Bronx, N.Y.) netted 12 points and grabbed seven boards.

Sophomore forward Aikeem Vanderhorst (Bay Shore, N.Y.) added nine points and six rebounds for AIC, while junior forward Colson Senat (Montreal, P.Q.) tallied eight points and grabbed six boards. Junior forward Lucius Millinder (Belleville, N.J.) had six points and a team-best nine rebounds.

AIC held an early 5-4 lead before Post went on a 10-0 run to take the lead for good at 14-5 midway through the first half. The Eagles put the game pout of reach as they opened the second half with a 12-2 run to take a 36-21 lead 3:19 into the second period.

The Yellow Jackets will next face host Bridgeport Sunday at 4 p.m. in the final game of the Purple Knight Classic.
