Top-Ranked Le Moyne Blanks Men's Lacrosse

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -Le Moyne scored six goals in the first quarter en route to a 17-0 victory over the American International College men's lacrosse team Sunday afternoon at John Homer Miller Field. The Dolphins, who are ranked No. 1 in the latest Unites States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association coaches' poll and laxpower.com poll, improved to 8-0 on the season and 5-0 in the Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 1-5 overall and 0-5 in conference play.

Le Moyne had 13 different goal scores in the game, including a pair of three-goal performances from freshmen Mark Bowler (Cary, N.Y.) and Nick DiSarro (Syracuse, N.Y.). Junior Jack Mooney (Webster, N.Y.) scored one goal and added a game-high four assists.

Junior Doug McIver (Altamont, N.Y.) made one save in the first quarter to improve to 8-0 on the season. Freshman Bay Stroker (Oswego, N.Y.) followed with five saves in 26:43 and classmate Tom Kralovenec (Cos Cob, Conn.) made two stops in the final 18:17.

Freshman Mark Taylor (North Andover, Mass.) took the loss for AIC after allowing 10 goals and making five saves in the first half. Classmate Max Castleman (Wilbraham, Mass.) allowed seven goals and registered seven stops in the second half.

The Yellow Jackets will next travel to Pace Wednesday for a 4 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
