MEN’S SOCCER TOPS CALDWELL 2-0

BOX SCORE

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 10, 2005)Akill Jules (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad) totaled a goal and an assist to lead American International College to a 2-0 win over Caldwell College in a non-conference men’s soccer match at AIC Park Monday afternoon.  The Yellow Jackets are unbeaten in their last four games as they improved to 6-4-2 overall, while the Cougars, who currently lead the Central Atlantic Collegeiate Conference (CACC) standings, are now 7-3-1 overall.

After a scoreless first half, Jules got AIC on the board just 2:29 into the second half when he tapped home a shot attempt by Chris Carrozza (Methuen, Mass.).  The Yellow Jackets would add an insurance goal with just over a minute to play when Norbert Dusza (Holyoke, Mass.) scored from 12 yards out on a feed from Jules.

Matt Marcoux (Blackstone, Mass.) made seven saves in goal for American International en route to his first career shutout.  Mike Turdo (West Paterson, N.J.) totaled five saves for the Cougars.  Caldwell held a 13-12 shot advantage on the afternoon.

AIC returns to Northeast-10 play Wednesday when it travels to Bentley for a 3:30 contest.
