AIC TOPS BRYANT 2-1
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 22, 2005) - Akill Jules (Port
of Spain, Trinidad) scored with two minutes left to lift the
American International College men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over
Bryant Saturday. With the win AIC tied the school record for
wins in a season and improved to 8-5-2 overall and 6-4-2 in the
Northeast-10, while the Bulldogs saw a five-game unbeaten streak
end and fall to 7-5-4 and 6-4-3 in the league.
Bryant scored just 6:39 into the match when Dan Claus scored an unassisted tally by sneaking a ball inside the right post. The Yellow Jackets tied the game 5:20 later when Marek Przybylek (Olsztyn, Poland) scored on a restart with Ryan Hunt (Saugerties, N.Y.) assisting. The game remained tied until Jules' tally with two minutes left.
Michael Murphy (Ithaca, N.Y.) made five saves in the win for AIC, while Alex Bissias made three saves for Bryant.
AIC returns to action Monday when it hosts Stonehill at 2:00.
