NO. 15 MERRIMACK POSTS 4-0 MEN’S SOCCER VICTORY

BOX SCORE

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (September 21, 2005) – No. 15 Merrimack College scored three goals in the final 12:29 before halftime and would go on to a 4-0 win over American International College in a Northeast-10 men’s soccer match at Warrior Field Wednesday afternoon.  The Warriors improved to 6-2-0 and 4-0-0 in NE-10 play, while the Yellow Jackets are now 3-3-1 and 2-3-1 in the league.

The game remained scoreless until the 33rd minute when Donnie Aylward scored an unassisted goal when he booted home a loose ball in front of the AIC goal.  Kiel Milliken and Tokelo Gugushe would add tallies before intermission, and Milliken would close out the scoring at the 59:30 mark with his second goal of the contest.

Ted Kakambouras made four saves en route to the shutout.  Michael Murphy (Ithaca, N.Y.) made seven saves in the first 63:30 before giving way to Matt Marcoux (Blackstone, Mass.), who was not forced to make a stop.  The Warriors outshot AIC 18-5 on the afternoon.

AIC returns to action Saturday when it hosts UMass Lowell at AIC Park at 1:00 pm.
