MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO NO. 3 DOWLING 4-1

BOX SCORE

OAKDALE, N.Y. (September 5, 2005) - Chris Corridon had a pair of goals as third-ranked Dowling College remained unbeaten with a 4-1 win over American International College in men's soccer Monday afternoon.  The Golden Lions, who reached the NCAA Division II national semifinals last season, improve to 2-0-2 on the year, while the Yellow Jackets suffer their first defeat and fall to 2-1-0.

Corridon would net the first two goals for the hosts, with his first coming just over five minutes in.  His second, at the 40:07 mark, gave Dowling a 2-0 advantage.  Benard Kessie (Worcester, Mass.) would make it 2-1 35 seconds before halftime when he converted a penalty kick.

Morten Jensen made it 3-1 for the Golden Lions in the 53rd minute and Marcus Reis would score with just under 20 minutes left to close out the scoring.

Nemanja Veljovic made one save en route to the victory, while AIC's Michael Murphy (Ithaca, N.Y.) turned away four shots.  Dowling held an 11-5 shot advantage.

AIC returns to Northeast-10 play Saturday when it travels to Saint Rose for a 1:00 contest.
